Uncharted 3 Beta Maps, Guns, Mods, and Characters

The Uncharted 3 Beta is inching ever closer, and as we move towards it, more and more info continues to come to light.

Today, we’ve got a breakdown of some stuff that will be available for you to try out in the beta, including the list of maps, guns, mods, and characters that you’ll be able to use.  These are just a subset of the maps, guns, mods, and characters in the final game.  Here we go…

Uncharted 3 Beta Maps

The Uncharted 3 beta will allow you to play multiplayer on two maps.  The first of these is Airfield, which will include multiple levels so you can get your climb on, as well as crazy events like planes taking off and cargo shifting around in it.  Below is a video flythrough of the Airfield map:

The other Uncharted 3 beta map is taken from the campaign section you’ve seen previously in the Uncharted 3 gameplay footage.  The map is called Chateau, and it will take place in a burning French mansion.  Again, it will be multi-leveled so you can climb around and will include live action events like pieces of the building crumbling around you.  Again, we’ve embed a video walkthrough of the map below:

Uncharted 3 Beta Guns

So far, we know that the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta will include RPGs, pistols, the AK-47, G-Mal, and Dragon Sniper.

Uncharted 3 Beta Mods

Mods are modifications you can make to the weapons that you equip in Uncharted 3.  The beta will include only a couple of mods for you to use, and a limited selection of guns as well.

In the beta, you’ll have only two mods to use on your long range guns (AK-47, G-Mal, Dragon Sniper).

  • Clip Size – Pretty self-explanatory, increase the size of your clips
  • Call Out – Let’s you see enemy locations

You’ll also have to other mods to use with pistols

  • Increase Ammo – Allows you to carry more ammo
  • Rate of Fire – Increase your fire rate on the Arm Micro pistol

Uncharted 3 Beta Characters

Four characters will be available to you in the beta, three when you play as heroes and just the one when you play as villains (that’s what you get for being a bad guy!).  When you play as a hero, you can elect to use either Drake, Sully, or a treasure hunter (so still no confirmation of Elena or Chloe).  When you play as a villain, you’re stuck with the generic pirate.

Don’t worry about being stuck with too generic a character though, as the beta will make character customization available to you.  There’s been no confirmation as to how much of the character customization will be available, but if everything else is an indication it will likely be a small subset.  Still, they’ll likely make most of the different types of items (shirts, sunglasses, hats, jewelry, etc) available, just a limited selection of each of them.

So there you have it, a comprehensive breakdown of the Uncharted 3 beta maps, guns, gun mods, and characters.  Has that gotten you salivating for the beta enough yet?  There’s less than one month until you can get your hands on the beta, be sure to keep checking back here to get all the latest beta info as it’s released in the meantime!
